Beyond a Challenge

This week's OWH Sunday Sketch Challenge was way too difficult for me.  Here was the challenge sketch provided by Erika P this week. It's a great challenge... for me!

If you look at any of the cards I've created & displayed here, you'll notice that I'm not a multi-patterned paper user.  It overwhelms me. So this challenge was way out of my box.

I took the easy way out.  Yes, I will confess that I used patterned paper that somewhat resembled the sketch that I felt I could get away with for this week's challenge.  And the whole "vertical sentiment" thing was totally beyond my realm.  So I clear embossed a heart stamp then used white Zing for the sentiment.

Best part about this challenge is that it made me use paper I bought that I was probably never going to use in the first place.  I apparently bought it hoping that I could get over the whole "multi-pattern" phobia. So here's my interpretation...

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I don't think you cheated at all- I had a hard time with this one too! All week I kept trying to find vertical sentiments, and this morning gave up and turned the sketch sideways. I like your solution, Wendy!

  8. Great card! I never would have guessed it was "cheated" on. ;) I kind of cheated when I made mine too as all of the papers on my card came from the same paper pack - thus everything matched already.
